Clarkstown Police: 2 Charged With DWI In Separate Incidents
Orangeburg woman involved in accident; telephone tip leads to arrest of Yonkers man.
An Orangeburg woman and a Yonkers man were charged with drunken driving in separate incidents in Clarkstown on Friday, according to town police.
— Laura Nolan, 45, of Orangeburg, was involved in an accident at 12:10 a.m. on Congers Road in Congers. Police said no one was injured in the accident.
Police said town officers investigating the accident had Nolan perform a field sobriety test and then she was taken to police headquarters in New City for a chemical breath test for alcohol. Police said Nolan failed both tests and was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. Nolan was later released pending a Feb. 20 hearing in Clarkstown Town Court in New City.
— Frederick Fugah, 47, of Yonkers was stopped by town police about 10:20 p.m. Friday on southbound Route 304 in Nanuet after receiving a cell phone report about a possible drunk driver nearby in New City.
Police said Fugah was driving erratically on Route 304 in Nanuet and failed a field sobriety test. Fugah was taken to police headquarters, where police said he failed a chemical breath test for alcohol.
Fugah was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and was later released pending a March 14 hearing in Town Court.
