Moylan Steps Down as Pearl River Basketball Coach

Lorraine Moylan stepped down as girls basketball coach at Pearl River after Thursday's loss in the Section 1 semifinals.

Lorraine Moylan will no longer coach the Pearl River girls basketball team.

The Hall of Fame Coach, Rockland County's all-time leader with 536 victories, stepped down after Thursday's loss to Albertus Magnus in the Section 1 Class A semifinals. She told her players in a meeting Friday.

Moylan became the first coach in the county to go over 500 career victories last season as she led the Pirates to the Section 1 championship, the second of her tenure with Pearl River. She also won one with Pearl River in 2008.
