Holiday Ice Skating Show
When/Where: Saturday, December 17 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m./Palisades Ice Rink in the Palisades Mall on the 4th Floor.
Why Go:  Skaters of all levels, including Senior Freestyle, will be performing.  In addition, the fastest growing skating discipline, synchronized skating, will be represented by Team Image Beginner 1 who won first place at the Terry Conners Synchronized Skating Open in Stamford, CT..

Orangeburg Volunteer Fire Department Holiday Parade
When/Where: Parade begins 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17 at the corner of Orangeburg Road and Lester Drive.
Why Go: Join Mr. and Mrs. Claus and their elves in judging the participants in the holiday parade in front of the Orangeburg Fire House on Dutch Hill Road. All vehicles will be decorated, but there will be no marchers in this ride only parade. The full route is available at the Orangeburg Volunteer Fire Department web page here.

Nanuet Winter Concerts
When/Where: 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15; Monday, Dec. 19; Thursday, Dec. 22 at the Nanuet High School’s auditorium
Why Go: Come out and enjoy the sounds of the holidays and listen to what these students have worked so hard on. Dec 15 is 7th & 8th grades; Dec 19 is 6th grade and Dec. 22 is 5th grade

Let’s Feed Rockland
When/Where: Sunday, Dec. 18 at noon at, 183 W Route 59, Nanuet
Why Go: This Karate school is hosting a “soup kitchen” and they’re looking for canned food for their food drive. They’re collecting everyday through Dec. 18. Stop by with a donation today for this local business.

Candlelight Tour of the Historic Jacob Blauvelt House
When/Where: Sunday, Dec. 18 tours at 7:30, 8:30 or 9 p.m./The Jacob Blauvelt Farmhhouse is located on the grounds of the Historical Society of Rockland County, 20 Zukor Road in New City.
Why Go:  Spend an enchanted evening at the historic 1832 Jacob Blauvelt farmhouse.The evening is magical as the historic home is illuminated with candlelight and lanterns, fragrant with traditional sweets and decorated with festive greenery. Experience Dutch-American holiday traditions of the 1830’s, with 19th century music and song, docents in period costumes and seasonal refreshments.
Cost/Contact: $10 for adults, $8 for HSRC members and $5 for children. Price includes admission to the 36th Annual Miniature, Dollhouse and Art Exhibition: “Creativity.”

Dedication of Congregation Sons of Israel’s Educational Building
When/Where: Saturday, Dec. 17 at 4:30 p.m./Congregation Sons of Israel 300 North Broadway, Upper Nyack
Why Go:  Join us for Seudah (a light meal), followed by the formal Dedication program, havdallah and putting up a mezzuzah on the School Building entrance.
