The Center for Safety & Change, formerly called the Rockland Family Shelter, reaching out to community members, businesses, faith-based groups and other organizations and asking for holiday contributions for clients in its residential and non-residential programs.
This year, instead of clothing or toys, the Center is specifically requesting gift card donations for clients and asking that they be from local stores. The center assists survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and provides support and informational services to victims of all types of crime.
“Gift ards enable our clients to make the best choices when selecting gifts for their children and themselves,” said Carolyn Fish, executive director of Center for Safety & Change. “We’ve specifically selected stores that are accessible by public transportation, including the Palisades Mall.”
Gift Cards suggestions include American Express, Visa, Target, Walmart, Toys R Us, Shop Rite, Pathmark, Stop & Shop, Kohl’s, Marshalls, Sears and Palisades Mall. Donors are asked to deliver gift cards by Wednesday, December 12th in time for clients to do their holiday shopping. They can be dropped off or mailed to: Center for Safety & Change, 9 Johnsons Lane, New City, NY 10956.
