Garage Sale to Benefit Jawonio

Tappan Zee senior Caitlyn Murphy is holding a garage sale to raise funds to buy a piece of therapeutic equipment for . There will be household items, books toys, printers, suitcases and small electronic devices.

The sale will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 7 at The Tappan Reformed Church Manse Barn on Old Tappan Road.

Murphy is holding the sale for her Girl Scout Gold Award project, but she also wants to help Jawonio, where her brother Patrick went for therapy. Jawonio provides assistance and resources for people with disabilities and special needs.

"My brother went to Jawonio when he was a baby," Murphy said. "They helped us understand what he needed to help himself. They are a really good organization. I thought it would be a great way to give back to them after they helped us for so many years."
