Grab & Go Kids Planner: The Circus and Zumba

From a toddler music program and a Zumba dance class to the circus and a mini-space camp, this week's Grab & Go will have you and your brood moving and grooving.

1. ZUMBA FITNESS CLASS

Where/When: Franklin Ave. Elementary School; Doors open at 6:45 p.m. and class starts at 7:15 p.m. To reserve your spot, call Anna at 201.403.5579 or email annazumbas@yahoo.com

Why Go? Proceeds will benefit S.E.P.T.A, Pearl River’s Special Education Parent Teacher Association. 


Pricing: $15 in advance; $20 at the door; $10 for high school students with I.D. or class schedule. Limited space.

2. MODEL RAILROAD EXHIBIT TRAIN SHOW (www.bcmrrc.com)

Where/When: Saturday Feb. 19, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday Feb. 20 and Monday Feb. 21, noon-5 p.m. at the Pearl River United Methodist Church on the corner of S. John St. and Franklin Avenue.

Why go? Kids love trains, even the adult-sized kids.

Pricing: Adults: $5; Children: $2

3. MUSIC TOGETHER® CLASS FOR TODDLERS

Where/When: Dennis P. McHugh Piermont Public Library, 25 Flywheel Park West, Piermont. Wed., Feb. 16 at 11:30 a.m.

Why go? Moon River Music Together with Catherine Rubin explores how the early childhood program of Music Together® teaches toddlers about music through play.

4. FREE MOVIE SCREENING (www.racetonowhere.com)

Where/When: Risen King Alliance, 190 New Hempstead Road, New City; Thurs., Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. Discussion forum after film showing.

Why Go: “Race to Nowhere” has been called “a must-see movie for parents and educators.”

Pricing: Free. Donations are welcome.

5. ROYAL HANNEFORD CIRCUS (914.995.4050)

Where/When: Westchester County Center in White Plains, Central Ave. at Bronx River Parkway, Exit 5 off I-287; Sat., Feb. 19 through Mon., Feb 21; Show times: 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. each day.

Why Go? The circus is in town! And no, your own house doesn’t qualify as a circus.

6. CHALLENGER CENTER MINI-SPACE CAMP (www.LHVCC.com)

Where/When: The Challenger Learning Center, 225 Rt. 59, Airmont; Tuesday, Feb. 22 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Why Go? Sometimes, you need to give your kids a little space to learn. Kids in grades K-4, who are fans of LEGO and dream of being an astronaut, will enjoy this one-day, mini-space camp.

Pricing:
 Town of Ramapo residents: $20; Non-residents: $25. Enrollment is limited. Call 845.357.3416 to sign up.
