Lowey Organizes Women's Health Discussion at Orangetown Town Hall

Congresswoman Nita Lowey will bring a discussion of women's health issues with Dr. Linda Birnbaum 10:30 a.m. Friday at Orangetown Town Hall in Orangeburg.

Birnbaum is the director of the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) and the National Institute of Health.

With NIEHS, she oversees research into the environmental impact on breast cancer risk factors, potential contributions to autism  and birth defects.

"Public access to decision-makers is the key to good government and here is a great chance for Orangetown residents to actaully meet a national leader in health policy and research," Orangetown Supervisor Andy Stewart said. "Thanks to Nita Lowey."
