Where/When: Hudson Highlands Nature Museum Outdoor Discovery Center, entrance at 100 Muser Drive, across from 174 Angola Rd. in Cornwall. Tours are Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tours start every half hour and last about 45 minutes. Tour dates are Mar. 12, 13, 19, 20, 26 and 27.
Why go? Because pancakes wouldn’t taste the same without the sugary sweetness of maple syrup. Maple sugar products and hot chocolate are available for purchase in the Visitors Center gift shop. Call 845.534.5506 for more information.

2. “MARS NEED MOMS” IN 3D OPENS AT THE IMAX

Why Go: Nine-year-old Milo discovers how much he needs his mom when she is taken by Martians who plan to steal her mom-ness for their own young. Produced by the team behind Disney’s “A Christmas Carol” and “The Polar Express,” “Mars Needs Moms” features Milo’s wild adventure to save his mother, which involves stowing away on a spaceship, navigating an elaborate planet and taking on the alien nation and its’ leader.

3. FUNDRAISER FOR THE JOAN ANGELA D’ALESSANDRO FOUNDATION www.joansjoy.org
Where/When: The Sports Place, 600 Bradley Pkwy., Blauvelt; Sat., Mar. 12th from 6:30-9:30 p.m.
Why Go? The Foundation honors the memory of Joan Angela D’Alessandro, a 7-year-old Girl Scout who went to deliver Girl Scout cookies to a neighbor and tragically never returned home. Event features Glo-Putt mini golf, basketball, soccer and arcade games with prizes.

4. MAKE IT & TAKE IT FAMILY EVENT AT MICHAELS

5. PURIM CARNIVAL

6. LEGO CLUB at Pearl River Public Library

7. DARE 3-ON-3 MATCH MADNESS BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
Where/When:
Pearl River Middle School Saturday. Boys start at 9 a.m., Girls at 9:30 a.m.
Why Go: Entry fee goes to People to People. Fun and excercise for the participants. Trophies for the winning teams.
Pricing: Entry fee is three cans of canned food to be donated to People to People.

8. KING KONE IS OPEN!

Why Go? King Kone is now open for the season, and the kiddies (and parents, too) couldn’t be happier! King Kone serves delicious old-fashioned soft serve custard and ice cream treats. It’s a little Coney Island in our own backyard.
