NBC's "The Blacklist" to Film in Pearl River

Viewers will get their first look at the new NBC series, "The Blacklist," with its debut episode Monday night, but Pearl River residents will get a glimpse of the making of a future episode of the show Wednesday and Thursday.

Crews filming for the series will be set up at multiple locations in Pearl River, which could cause parking and driving limitations. According to the plan filed with the Orangetown Town Clerk's office, shooting will be done on Main Street between Jefferson Ave. and West Central Ave. from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and on Ridge Street between Jefferson and Franklin Ave. Wednesday.

Part of Monday's pilot episode was shot in Pleasantville back in March. Find out more about that shoot in this report on Patch. James McCauley was the location manager. He described the new drama, which stars James Spader.

"The show is basically about a gentleman who is No. 4 on the FBI's most wanted list," McCauley said. "He gives himself up after over 20 years of being at large."

Spader's character, Raymond "Red" Reddington, offers to give himself up and surrender all of his contacts, but insists on working only with a rookie FBI agent, who is played by Megan Boone. Reddington seems to have no connection to the agent.
