O&R Distributes Dry Ice In Orangeburg

It was one of two locations in Rockland on Monday, along with Provident Bank Park in Pomona.

O&R workers were in the parking lot of Veteran’s Memorial Park in Orangeburg Monday morning to give out free dry ice to local residents. It’s the first time O&R has given out dry ice in Orangeburg since last week’s storm.

They also scheduled a delivery of dry ice for Provident Bank Park in Pomona 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. today.

The dry ice distributions are set up to help those customers still without power. According to O&R, 25,500 of the 61,800 still waiting for the return of their electricity are in Rockland County.

Tom Maiorano, an inspector with O&R, said people are using the dry ice to keep items in their refrigerators and freezers. He said that about 15 people picked up dry ice Monday morning at the Veteran’s Memorial Park giveaway.
