Orangetown Relay for Life Seeks Volunteers

The 2013 Orangetown Relay for Life is scheduled for June 14 and 15 on the Central Ave. Field in Pearl River.

Organizers of the Orangetown Relay for Life recently began planning for the 2013 event, scheduled for June 14 and 15 on the Central Ave. Field in Pearl River.

They are currently seeking volunteers to help with this year's event. The organizing committee will meet once a month, starting Feb. 28 at Pearl River Public Library, but most of the work is done on their schedule.

The American Cancer Society Relays for Life celebrate cancer survivors, remember those who who have been lost to the disease, and raise money that goes to cancer research and patient services.

Anyone interested in volunteering can contact Jennifer Nulle, American Cancer Society Director of Special Events for the Eastern Division by email at jennnifer.nulle@cancer.org or by phone at (845) 440-2521.

Volunteers are needed for tasks such as promoting the event, recruiting participants, bringing in donors and sponsors, acquiring auction items and planning the entertainment.
