Pajama Stories, Harry Potter in 3D, Nyack Street Fair and The Storming of Stony Point

Family Music Festival in West Nyack
When/Where: Wednesday, July 13 at 7:30 p.m.; Germonds Park, Germonds Road in West Nyack.
Why Go?: This twilight concert features a performance by rock and roll band Radio Flyer.
Pricing: Free

Jeffrey Friedberg and The Bossy Frog Band
When/Where: Thursday, July 14 at 10 a.m.; Nyack Famer’s Market, 119 Main Street in Nyack.
Why Go?: Toddlers can move and groove to the fresh beats of Jeffrey Friedberg and The Bossy Frog Band.
Pricing: Free

When/Where: Registration for this program begins on Monday, July 11. Program is taking place at the Pearl River Library from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, July 18. Register now because spots fill up fast.
Why Go?: Irish culture will be explored and lively stories about Ireland will be shared.
Pricing: Free 


When/Where: Every Wednesday from now until August 3, teen volunteers at the Pearl River Library, 80 Franklin Avenue, will read stories to children ages three to five years old.
Why Go?: Kids can show up in their pajamas with their favorite stuffed animal and be read a favorite bedtime story.
Pricing:
Free. No registration but a valid Pearl River Library card must be shown. 

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 in IMAX 3D
When/Where: Movie opens Friday, July 15; IMAX Theatre Palisades Center, 4270 Palisades Center Drive, Fourth Floor “thEATery” Level in West Nyack.
Why Go?: The end begins as Harry, Ron, and Hermione go back to Hogwarts to find and destroy Voldemort’s final horcruxes, but when Voldemort finds out about their mission, the biggest battle gets underway and life as they know it will never be the same again.

Friday is Movie Day at the Blauvelt Library
When/Where: Friday, July 15 at 3:00 p.m. at The Blauvelt Library, 541 Western Highway in Blauvelt.
Why Go?: A free screening of “Toy Story 3” will be shown. Rated G. 103 minutes long.

Nyack's Famous Street Fair
When/Where: Sunday, July 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m.
Rain or shine. Downtown Main Street and Broadway in Nyack.
Why Go?: More than 200 exhibitors with handcrafted items, art, photography, framed prints and great retail items will be selling their wares at this family fun day. Delicious festival foods and a children's area will also be there. The fair will have something for everyone and is sponsored by ACADA. Celebrate the 232nd Anniversary of the Storming of Stony Point
When/Where: Saturday, July 16 and Sunday, July 17 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. History buffs and families can visit an 18th century military encampment and witness historical battle reenactments on Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m. On Saturday night, there willbe an evening battlefield walking tour beginning at 8 p.m. The event is taking place at the Stony Point Lighthouse and Battlefield located at 44 Battlefield Road on 9W in Stony Point. Rain or shine.
Why Go?: American Brigadier General Anthony Wayne’s daring nighttime assault on the British garrison at Stony Point in Rockland County will be recreated with an 18th century soldiers’ encampmentat this historical battle site. Watch as American troops advance on the British camp and imagine what the soldiers might have felt and experienced in a midnight raid. There will also be musket, rifle and artillery demonstrations, plus cooking and blacksmith demonstrations as well as colonial games and wooden musket drills for children.
