Pee Wee Soccer Clinic, Bunny Breakfast, LEGO Club and Glaze Collage Art

It's beginning to look and feel more like Spring every day. The soccer fields at Veteran's Memorial Park are populated with young athletes and the Easter Bunny has been spotted at the Palisades Center. Yes, it appears that Spring is finally here!

The Art of Collage at Glaze
Where/When: Glaze Art Studio, 34 Orangetown Shopping Center; Fri., Apr. 8 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Why Go: Children in kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to collage a keepsake box that they can use to store their personal treasures or give as a present to someone special. 
Pricing: $25 per child. Pre-registration and payment required. Call 845.359.9020.

Make & Take Craft at A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts
Where/When: A.C. Moore, 165 Rockland Center in Nanuet; Sat., Apr. 9 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Why Go?: This week’s free craft event at A.C. Moore is a “Make and Take ‘Act for Autism’ Puzzle,” sponsored by the Easter Seals. After the craft event, you may donate a $1 at checkout to support Act for Autism, an organization that provides help, hope and answers for families living with autism.
Pricing: Free craft event. Suggested donation of $1 at register goes to Act for Autism.

Pee Wee Soccer Clinic
Where/When: Veteran’s Memorial Park Soccer Fields; Program is Sat., Apr. 9 and Apr. 16. Rain date is Apr. 30. Session time is 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Why Go: Sponsored by Orangetown Recreation Department and Orangetown Mighty Midgets soccer program, this clinic is for boys and girls, ages 4 and 5, and teaches them the fundamentals of soccer including dribbling, passing, trapping and shooting. Pricing: $20. Available to first-time registrants only.

LEGO Club
Where/When: Story Time Room at the Pearl River Library, Mon., Apr. 11 from 4 - 5 p.m.
Why Go: Building LEGOs helps to build confidence in kids. Program is for children, ages 4 - 7 years old.
Pricing: Free. No registration required. Bring a friend!

Parent University: "Ten Deadly Teen Driver Mistakes"
Where/When: Pearl River High School, Auditorium, Pirate Cove located at 275 E. Central Ave.; Thursday, Apr. 14 (Rescheduled from April 11); Program starts at 7 p.m.
Why Go?: Don Schuck, an instructor for AAA, will give a 30-minute interactive presentation that provides parents with tips on how to help teens avoid these deadly driving mistakes with some best practices to improve judgment, knowledge, behavior and skills while driving. This program is part of the Pearl River School District’s Parent University.
Pricing: Free and open to parents everywhere.

Wii for Big Kids
Where/When: Story Time Room at the Pearl River Library, Wed., Apr. 13 from 7 – 8 p.m.
Why Go: Let the Wii games begin…for kids in fourth to sixth grade.
Pricing: Free. No registration required. Bring a friend.

Bunny Breakfast at the Palisades Center
Where/When: Palisades Center; 4270 Palisades Center, West Nyack; Sat., Apr. 16 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the H&M Court on the first level.
Why Go?: Kids ages three through nine are invited to have breakfast with the Easter bunny. Photo opportunity with the Easter bunny is available. Photo package prices vary.
Pricing: Open to the first 60 people to sign up. Call 845.348.1000 to add you and child’s name to the list or sign up in person at the Customer Service desk on the first level.

Easter Egg Hunt 2011
Where/When:
Central Ave. Field in downtown Pearl River; Sun. Apr. 17 at 1 p.m. sharp.
Why Go?: An egg-cellent way to spend a Sunday with your family. This fun event promises to be one that kids, both big and small, will enjoy.
