Pfizer Hosting March of Dimes 5K Walk/Run

The 16th Annual Centrum/March of Dimes 5K Run/Walk and the Prevnar Kids Run begins 8 a.m. Sunday at Pfizer.

March of Dimes Development Director Sharon Masciovecchio may spread the word about the  but she said Pfizer makes it all happen.

"It has always been theirs,"  Masciovecchio said. "We assist them in the fundraiser, but it is something they do for the March of Dimes community. Give the kudos and praise to them."

The 3.1-mile course goes through Pfizer's Pearl River Campus off Middletown Road for this amateur event designed for runners and walkers.

"That is important. It's not just for people who run. It's a long walk," Masciovecchio said. "It's open to all. Come out and do something healthy."

The entry fees are $15 for adults, $5 for kids, with money going to support the March of Dimes, which has been supporting research, community service, education and advocacy services with the goal of improving the health of babies since it was founded in 1938.
