St. Margaret's Draws Big Crowd For St. Patrick's Day Mass

There was hardly a seat left for Saturday's St. Patrick's Day Mass at St. Margaret Church in Pearl River.

Many around Pearl River kicked off their St. Patrick’s Day early Saturday morning with a trip to St. Margaret of Antioch Church for mass.

By the time Monsignor John O'Keefe made his way to the front of the church to begin mass, the room was packed, leaving a few to stand in the back or sit on folding chairs. Joining those at St. Margaret’s on Saturday morning was the choir from St. Joseph Regional High School, a Catholic school for boys in Montvale, N.J. The choir sat up top in the church and sang multiple times during the ceremony.

The colors, including an Irish flag, were brought in at the start of mass, as well, and many in the crowd wore green to celebrate the holiday.
