Beth Am Temple To Host Comedian's One-Man Show

Brad Zimmerman will perform "My Son The Waiter: A Jewish Tragedy" at Temple Beth Am in Pearl River March 3

In honor of its 50th anniversary this year, Temple Beth Am in Pearl River organized a series of events leading up to the actual celebration on April 19.

The next event coming up is a one-man show called “My Son The Waiter: A Jewish Tragedy,” featuring comedian Brad Zimmerman. The show is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Sunday March 3 at the temple. Tickets cost $18 and can be purchased by calling the temple at 845-735-5858, or at the door the same day as the show.

“We were looking for something for every age range to celebrate our 50th anniversary,” said Wendy Slotnick, a member of the temple. “We were looking for a little something for everyone.”

She added that the one-man show is for more of a mature audience. The show, while working tragedy into the title, is also referred to as a poignant comedy on the show’s website.

Zimmerman has also participated in numerous roasts at the famed Friar’s Club, performed comedy throughout the country and appeared in “The Sopranos,” as well as on Conan O’Brien and David Letterman’s shows.

“My Son The Waiter: A Jewish Tragedy” deals with Zimmerman’s struggles to make it as an actor in New York City.
