Photographs by Roger Pellegrini

  • Black and white photographs by Roger Pellegrini will be on display at the Piermont Library during January, 25 Fly Wheel Park West, Piermont, just off Piermont Avenue.

Pellegrini was born in New York City in 1948.  Both his father and mother were freelance commercial photographers and one of his earliest memories is of the red glow of a safe-light in the small apartment kitchen on Perrry Street that his parents had converted to a darkroom.  From working with them, he learned all aspects of commercial photography, and although he did not pursue it as a career, his interest in photography has never waned.

  • He has little to say about his own work, believing that art in general is over-analyzed.  As he understands it, "When it's good, there's nothing much to say.  A good photograph is its own reward and will silence your mind for a moment."
