The Dance Central Performance Arts Junior/Senior Company team brought home the Xcalibur Award for high score of the day at the DanceXplosion National Talent Competition last week in Wildwood, NJ with its hip hop piece, "Numb!"
Students from Dance Central, located in Pearl River, turned in a strong overall performance in their third year taking part in such competitions. Known as Company Competition, they took first overall in hip-hop, fourth and fifth in tap and sixth in jazz.
“Our dancers worked very hard this year on technique and stage presence and it has all paid off,” said owners Annie Paratore and Kim Crispino. “We couldn’t be happier for our students, their parents and our choreographers.”
Dance Central will hold a grand opening for its renovated dance space Sept. 8.
