Gunfire at a farmers market (thankfully) isn't typical, but a violent scene broke out when television crews for the new NBC drama The Blacklistcame to Pearl River last month.
Monday's episode of the fall primetime series, "The Courier" included scenes at a set farmers market built on Ridge Street, where FBI Agent Elizabeth Keene (Megan Boone) and CIA Agent Agent Margot Malik (Parminder Nagra) are on the lookout for a criminal courier who can't feel pain (Robert Knepper).
Chestnut Ridge resident Elliot J. Moritz shared on Patch his experience as a background actor on the local set, which was identified in the episode as being in Alexandria, Virginia.
After witnessing a known criminal deliver a package to Knepper's character during the episiode, gunfire breaks out and the two agents pursue the courier in a car chase through Pearl River up Jefferson Avenue and onto Main Street.

The Blacklist stars James Spader as an international criminal who turns himself into the FBI and offers his assistance in capturing other high profile criminals, while working directly only with rookie profiler Keene. The show airs at 10 p.m. on Mondays on NBC.
