O&R Donation Buys School Supplies for Needy Children

Orange & Rockland Utilities continued a 12-year partnership with People to People to help provide school supplies for needy children in Rockland County.

O&R gave People to People's School With Dignity program a $5,000 grant, bringing the utility company's total donations to the program since 2001 to $75,000.

People to People has run the Back to School With Dignity program since 1994, providing backpacks filled with supplies such as calculators, binders, folders, notebooks, compasses, paper, pens and pencils. The average cost is $35 per child in kindergarten and $150 per student in high school.
