 Dear neighbor;

 The James H. Anderson Post #1199 of the American Legion has adopted Bravo Company of the 101st Signal Battalion from this date until their return some time in the latter half of 2013. As part of our assistance at this time for the units of approximately 150 soldiers and officers we will be hosting the troops and their families for a picnic on Saturday May 26, 2012 at Anderson Field.

 The purpose of the picnic is to show our appreciation of their patriotism and to give the families of these brave individuals an opportunity to bond together for their upcoming separation from their soldiers. As National Guard members there are limited occasions for their families to get to know each other. This bonding is significant for the families members here in the states, and reassuring to the troops overseas. This will provide them the opportunity to establish support networks among themselves that they will be able to use for their mutual assistance.

We are asking your assistance in helping us provide food, non-alcoholic refreshments and gifts for the children to accommodate the 250 to 300 adults and children who we anticipate will attend the picnic. Any donations will be greatly appreciated.

The James H Anderson Post #1199 extends its appreciation for your generous contribution to our causes. For the amount of $_____._ or value.

Sincerely.

Ed Cardinale, Commander.
