For the Kids: Train Show, Silent Game, American Girl Crafts

Model Train Exhibit
When/Where: Feb. 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Feb. 18 from noon to 5 p.m./United Methodist Church of Pearl River.
Why Go: Because model trains are excellent, old-school family entertainment. Now in its 23rd year, the Bergen County Model Railroad Club’s show is always a popular one. The exhibit features four layouts with trains of many shapes and sizes. There will be shows three consecutive weekends, ending March 4.

Silent Library
When/Where:  Friday, Feb. 17 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m./Pearl River Public Library
Why Go: Teens in grades six through 12 can participate in a game based on the MTV show. Players will be split into two teams that must complete challenges without making any noise. There will be food and prizes.

Potato Power
When/Where: Thursday, Feb. 16 at 4:30 p.m. Nanuet Library
Why Go: Stop by for a fun activity with your child. Make a spud-powered battery. Registration is required at the Children’s Desk and it’s for grades K-4.

When/Where: Friday, February 17, 8 pm/, 94 Main St, Nyack
Why Go: Check out the most famous early sci-fi film, 1902 flick A Trip To The Moon.

Make & Take Crafts
When/Where: Saturday, Feb. 18 from 1 to 3 p.m./ 
Why Go: Stop by A.C. Moore in Nanuet this Saturday with your daughter to create a fun American Girl Crafts Wall Dangler.

Congers History Museum Opens For The Day
When/Where: Saturday, Feb. 18, 12 p.m./Burnside Ave & Lake Rd, Congers
Why Go: The Congers History Museum is located on the upper level of the Congers Railroad Station.  The opening is sponsored by the Congers Civic Association.
