Jawonio Bowlathon
When/Where:  Saturday, November 19 at 6:30 pm/New City Bowl & Batting Cages, 90 N Main St, New City
Why Go: Three strikes and you're IN for Jawonio supporting our adult community and residential services programs. The major sponsors for the event are: Main Mobility and Inserra Shoprite Supermarkets. You can bowl individually or with a team that you make up with 4 friends or family members. There are also raffle prizes, beautiful gift baskets, and a DJ.

36th Annual Miniature, Dollhouse & Art Exhibition
When/Where:  Sunday, November 20, 12 pm/The Historical Society of Rockland County, 20 Zukor Rd, New City
Why Go:  The Historical Society of Rockland County proudly announces the return of its ever-popular annual display, Miniature, dollhouse & Art Exhibition. The exhibition will showcase the work of miniature artists, fine artists, quilters and dollhouse creators.  The exhibition iscurated by Joanne Potanovic. The exhibition opens on Sunday, Nov. 20 and runs through Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012.  Regular exhibition hours will be Wednesday to Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. As this is a fund-raising exhibition, suggested admission will be $7.00 for adults and $3 for members, seniors and children under 12 (children under 3 are free).  This exhibition will be open on Friday, Nov. 25, Saturday, Nov. 26 and Sunday, Nov .27 from noon to 4 p.m. The Historical Society announces its annual raffle  Three lovely miniatures will be offered as prizes.  Tickets will be available throughout the duration of the exhibition.

Mr. Kurt Returns
When/Where: 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m Thursday at Pearl River Public Library
Why Go: Mr. Kurt has been entertaining preschool-age children at the Pearl River Library for years. He sings a collection of children’s songs and keeps the little ones entertained. Primarily recommended for children up through age six.

Family Movie Night
When/Where:  6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18 at the Nanuet Library
Why go: Come out for a community movie night and watch “Cars 2” with the kids

Make n’ Mold Candy Making Demonstration
When/Where: 2-3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20 at A.C. Moore in Nanuet
Why Go: Part of a 3-part series on making candy, A. C. Moore is teaching parents and kids how to make ‘Christmas Tree Bark’ this Sunday

Pearl River Women’s Club Holiday Fair
When/Where:  10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 in the Pearl River High School Caveteria
Why go: Shop for your holiday gifts earlier. Choose from gift baskets, handmade items, holiday items, jewelry, bags, scarves and more. Refreshments will be sold all day.
