Madelynrose To Close Its Doors

The children's boutique located on Central Avenue will close this summer after over five years in Pearl River.

The exact date is not set, but Madelynrose will be closing its doors between now and July 31.

The children's boutique located at 38 E. Central Avenue in Pearl River opened April 1, 2006 and will close before the current lease runs out at the end of next month.

"Pearl River is a great community and we've enjoyed having a store here," said co-owner Lisa Dorman. "We both live in Pearl River. We love the town. It's just for personal reasons we decided not to continue with the store."

Dorman co-owns the store with Michelle Worob and both are active in the Pearl River Chamber of Commerce. Worob also owns Luigi O'Grady's Deli and Catering in Pearl River.

"It's been on our agenda for a little bit now," Worob said. "With my situation with the deli, it has grown so fast and furious. I need to focus my attention there. (As things are) I can't give 100 percent at Madelynrose. I can't give 100 percent at the deli. That's not my speed.

"We've had a great five years, a successful five years. Lisa has another business she is involved in, too. We both have kids and husbands, too. We were always doing double duty."

"We're sad, too" Dorman said. "It's been great. People are very nice in the community."

The store is currently running a close-out sale. Worob said the closing will be based on how quickly the existing merchandise sells.
