Pascack Valley Line Schedule Changes Begin Saturday

Pascack Valley Line transportation will be very different on weekends and weekdays outside of rush hour starting Saturday.

Buses will be replacing train service between Spring Valley and Secaucus all day on weekends from Saturday through Aug. 11. There will also be no train service between 8:45 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. weekdays from July 15 until Sept. 6.

According to NJ Transit, the temporary schedule change is being made so workers can rebuild grade crossings in Westwood and Hackensack,  replace rail ties along the entire 30-mile line and perform other maintenance.

NJ Transit is recommending that customers allow from 30 to 60 minutes for extra travel time, primarily because the bus schedule is not identical to the train schedule. The bus schedule can be found here

During times with substitute busing, customers can use their rail passes on NJ Transit bus Numbers 76, 151, 161 and 16 and Rockland Coaches/Coach USA bus numbers 11A (to and from the Port Authority) and 11C (to and from George Washington Bridge Bus Station).

On Saturdays and Sundays while the busing is in effect, Metro-North Customers from the Spring Valley, Pearl River and Nanuet stops can use their montly and weekly commuter passes on the Metro-North Hudson Line between Tarrytown and Grand Central Terminal.
