Pearl River Day Brings Music, Talent Contest, Demonstrations

Pearl River Day, which is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, expanded to two stages to include Pearl River Has Talent and other entertainment.

The 6th Annual Pearl River Day will provide plenty of entertainment Saturday, musical and otherwise.

Organizers are setting up two stages for the event, which will bring over 100 vendors and more than 30 sponsors and thousands of people to part of Central Avenue in Pearl River from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Pearl River Day Chairman Matt Reid said one will be dedicated to this year's talent competition. Pearl River Idol is gone, replaced by Pearl River's Got Talent, which is sponsored by Active International. The competitors are:

  • Tyler Conroy, singer
  • Dance Central Performing Arts, Competition Team, dancers
  • Tara DiSanto, singer
  • Chris Tyson, dancer
  • Annie Arnold, singer
  • Diana Perzigian, singer
  • David Wallach, singer

Profiles of the performers can be found at www.pearlriverny.org.

The other stage will offer traditional Irish music from Ceol Milis, a mix of rock, blues and R&B from 8th Grade Science and a mix of many genres form Tom Cintula and The Buffalo 24. Martial artists from Mac Albus's Shukokai Karate and students from the Verlin School of Irish Dance will also perform. Pearl River's own Patrick Holt, also known as PJ the DJ, will also add to the entertainment.

Don't expect any singing or dancing from Pearl River Patch, but we will also be part of Pearl River Day.

An issues conference will be a wast of time and money. So many ' issues ' have been pulled out ofRead More thin air. The people who organized against the plant will just keep saying the same thing. No amount of info will be enough, no answer will be accepted. The issues conference will be a circus of endless questions, ideas, and demands. Haverstraw bay reclassified as drinking water will better protect it, provide an endless supply of water and finally help end the stereotype of the Hudson being polluted Recommend
