Pearl River Rotary Honors Five With Vocational Awards

The Rotary Club of Pearl River honored five people for the work they do in the community at Thursday's weekly meeting.

The Rotary Club of Pearl River honored five people for their contributions to the community at its annual Vocational Service Awards Thursday at the Greenhouse Cafe.

Rotary Club President Bob Simon said the awards are based on longevity and service to Pearl River.

Andrew Marchfeld made the presentations, though only four of the honorees were in attendance.

  • Stan Schwarz - volunteer for Meals on Wheels
  • John Poloni - Pearl River Hook and Ladder
  • Vivian Pratt - Fourth-grade teacher at Franklin Avenue Elementary School
  • Anne Pinzow - Our Town
  • Robert Rahnfelt - Pearl River Ambulance Corps

Rahnfelt was not in attendance. Club member Jeffrey Keahon pointed out that Rahnfelt was actually on duty at the time of the luncheon.
