As Valentine’s Day draws near this week, there are plenty of places to picked up gifts for loved ones in Pearl River.
For those looking for something sweet to give as a gift, two local options are Jane on Main and Edible Arrangements.
Jane Carroll, owner of Jane on Main, said some popular items in her store this time of year are the freshly baked cookies. She has a variety of flavors, including lemon poppy, maple and pecan, double chocolate and hazelnut and chocolate.
Jane on Main also has plenty of other sweets, but Carroll is also well known for her flower arrangements. Carroll has a wide range of flowers with a number of different presentations, from the flowers coming shaped in a heart container to flowers in wood tray to flowers shaped like a high heel shoe.
Carroll said there is a 20 percent discount on online orders for those who have the flowers delivered in Rockland. She also said orders can be placed same day for pickup and local delivery on Valentine’s Day, and asked that any same-day orders are made before noon the latest.
Also in Jane on Main, Carroll has a number of other gift items, such as plants and candles.
Over at Edible Arrangements, Claire G. said the Berry Lovely Cupcake arrangement has been a popular seller leading up to the holiday. There aren’t actual cupcakes, though. Instead the arrangement features pineapple shaped like cupcakes dipped in white chocolate, chocolate and sprinkles. That order also comes with strawberries, heart-shaped pineapples and grapes.
Strawberries are a popular fruit on Valentine’s Day, and plenty of arrangements include strawberries. There’s the Sweetheart Bouquet that contains chocolate-dripped strawberries arranged to look like a bouquet of flowers. The Sweet and Lovely is a box with a dozen chocolate-dripped strawberries with heart-shaped sprinkles that also comes with a stuffed bear and balloon.
Customers can also get the bear and balloon along with Cupid’s Berry Surprise, a package that contains a bouquet with chocolate-dripped strawberries, heart-shaped pineapple, plain strawberries and grapes. That package is available for pickup only.
The store will also accept same-day orders on Valentine’s Day, both for pickup and delivery, although delivery orders are asked to be made earlier in the day. Claire G. said pickup orders can be made while customers wait, but said it’d be easier if they are called in ahead of time.
