Rockland County Places To Watch The Super Bowl

A short of list of places to watch the Giants-Patriots this Sunday in Rockland County.

For those looking to venture from the warmth of their couches this Sunday to enjoy the Super Bowl in a more public setting, Rockland offers a wide range of places to go. Here are just a few.

- 16 S. Main Street, New City - 845-634-5271

If you walk in here Sunday and see the bartenders sporting New England Patriots jerseys, don’t be alarmed and think you’ve wandered into enemy territory. Quite the opposite, actually.

“Ever since the bartenders started wearing jerseys of the opponents, the Giants haven’t lost,” said Jason Owens, one of the owners. “One of the bartenders is a Jets fan and wore a Jets jersey the Sunday they played the Giants, and ever since then they’ve kept doing it.”

Owens said the Castle Inn is a local place with a lot of the same people coming through on Sundays to watch football, and that it has a fun atmosphere during the games, especially since the Giants are still playing.

He said during the games they’ll have drink specials, as well as some specials on food. They’ll also have free food, a buffet, coolers, shirts and a large Budweiser tent.

There’s no cover to get in and Owens said they might have some live music after the game.

- 16 E. Central Avenue, Pearl River  - 845-735-6427

This pub has a bunch of drink options, as well as a lot of food choices to enjoy while watching the game.

During football games, they offer a number of food specials, including four sliders (cheeseburger, BBQ pulled pork or meatloaf with friend onions) for $8, 30-cent wings, $1 tacos, $5 boneless ribs sandwich, $5 boardwalk sausage and pepper, $5 bratwurst with kraut, $8 Tommy Tots, $1 buffalo mac and cheese and $5 mini-meatball parm.

“We always get a nice football crowd on Sundays,” said Larry Vergine, owner of the bar.

Noonan’s has seen increased business this month with the Giants making a deep run in the playoffs.

“I guess we’ve got a superstitious crowd,” he said. “If they come one week and the Giants win, they’ll come back the next week to watch the game.”

- 82 Main Street, Nyack - 845-675-7020

At Black Bear you can reserve a table for $50. The reservation gets you the table along with a free cub keg, 30 wings and 10 raffle tickets with a chance to win an HD TV, fire pit, cooler and more.

Even if you don’t reserve a table, you can enjoy $3 Budweisers and Bud Light Drafts, $10 pitchers, $15 cub kegs and 50 cent wings.

The bar also has a live DJ on Sundays. It also has a large menu featuring a wide variety of appetizers, burgers, sliders, soups, salads, flat bread pizzas and sandwiches and more.

- 132 Main Street, Nanuet - 845-623-8504

While it might not be a hotel anymore, the Nanuet Hotel is still a place many go to watch sports, especially those looking for perhaps a less rowdy environment. The Nanuet Hotel has a quiet feel to it, but also plenty of seats facing their large TVs.

The restaurant is also well known and loved for its pizza, which is incredibly thin-crust. They also serve a bunch of other items, including buffalo wings, hamburgers and more. They’ve also got a large selection of beer.
