The JCC was a client that turned into a full-time gig. “I had the task of taking a small, local “Y” and making it one of the most branded JCCs in the country,” he said.

With a new mall in Nanuet and many big chains popping up, especially in hospitality-related industries like restaurants, hotels, and fitness centers, many small businesses are feeling the crunch.

Brown feels strongly that small businesses are a critical component to the strength of local economies and wants nothing better than to see them succeed. “The last thing we want to see is a local business closing its doors,” he said. “There’s plenty of business to go around. It’s just a matter of knowing how to be creative and cost-effective at the same time.”
