Attention Pearl River: Do you know of any community eyesores?

Are their litter eyesore in Pearl River?

The Great American Cleanup, the nation's largest community improvement program, takes place annually from March 1 through May 31.  Our very own Keep Rockland Beautiful, Inc. is a non-profit affiliate of Keep America Beautiful and we want your feedback Pearl River!!

KRB is organizing thousands of volunteers to go out this Spring to pick up trash all over the county from our roads, parks, streams and trails. This is a fun and meaningful way to spend some time outdoors, connect with your neighbors and help make a difference in your community.

To volunteer for the Pearl River Community Clean-Up in April, or for more information on Keep Rockland Beautiful, please go to their website at www.keeprocklandbeautiful.org.

The 304 underpass on crooked hill. ... always full of garbage and the town doesn't seem to care about the florescent green racial slurs spray painted on the pillars

Central Ave. kids park - I'm tired of coming up with things to say when my 4 year old asks what the little red and yellow bags are for.
Insides of blunt cigars, empty baggies and cigarette butts full the grass over there. As well as graffiti on the back wall near the memorial. And speaking of Central Ave. park, has anyone looked at the gazebo lately? Missing railings, garbage and dog poop.

THE PARK ON PILGRIM COURT. BOTTLES, BROKEN GLASS, BAGS, JUST A ABSOLUTE MESS.

The park on Pilgrim Court needs some attention as well as the Central Ave field area. The entire downtown area needs to pick up their cigarette butts. The grate around the tree by the Hotel is a filthy mess. Take pride in your business and respect the others of the town.

The whole park is overgrown and shabby looking and why is the business that sells Christmas trees there allowed to leave the pile of wood chips to rot and grow over with weeds.

Pearl River creek itself has garbage in several locations including:
South of Jefferson Ave., East of Route 304; and North of West Central Ave. next to Salon.

RE: Central Ave Park - I agree it needs and should be spruced up. I have an idea that if you like, great, if not well it’s someone else’s idea. Anyway, ask some volunteers (IE Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Garden Club or Seniors Club) to take turns throughout the year cleaning and weeding the 9/11 memorial, ask other volunteers (IE Chamber of Commerce, Knights of Cloumbus, Rotary) to take turns painting and maintaining the Gazebo and most importantly urge the school district to consider paving the top field and converting into a well lit outdoor basketball courts. This would provide recreation to the nearby families and the lights and greater use of the park might deter folks from making a mess of the place. In a nutshell, Pearl River has rallied for good causes over and over, maybe this is our Highview playground?

An issues conference will be a wast of time and money. So many ' issues ' have been pulled out ofRead More thin air. The people who organized against the plant will just keep saying the same thing. No amount of info will be enough, no answer will be accepted. The issues conference will be a circus of endless questions, ideas, and demands. Haverstraw bay reclassified as drinking water will better protect it, provide an endless supply of water and finally help end the stereotype of the Hudson being polluted Recommend
