Model Train Show Pulls Into Pearl River

United Methodist Church hosts Bergen County Model Railroad Club's annual display.

Drew Fortgang hadn't moved from his spot for an hour as he watched trains move along an O-Gauge Thomas The Tank Engine display, according to the 3-year-old New City resident's dad.

Nearby, dozens of other children and their parents watched as several trains moved along a 40-by-12-foot-high rail layout while others took in the older-style Standard-Gauge trains as they steamed past.

The Bergen County Model Railroad Club spends weeks setting up its annual display in the community room of the United Methodist Church in Pearl River. A small admission fee serves as a fund-raiser for the church.
