Nanuet's Young Wins State Cross Country Title

Nanuet senior Megan Young won the Class B race at the NYSPHSAA state cross country championships Saturday.

Nanuet senior Megan Young ran 3.1-mile route on the Elma Meadows Golf Course in 18:22.6 to win the state Class B championship Saturday.

On the boys side, Pearl River's Brian Cook finished third in the state Class B race in 15:53.7. Ryan Manahan of Marcellus won the race in 15:30.6. Section 1 team champion Tappan Zee took fifth in the team standings. The state cross country boys results can be found here

Young helped Nanuet finish third in the team standings behind Academy of Holy Names and East Aurora. The full girls results can be found here

Tappan Zee's Erin Jaskot finished ninth overall in the race in 18:40. Pearl River's top finisher was Catherine Rayward in 51st. 

The lone Section 1 girls team to bring home a state championship was Bronxville in Class C.
