Don't Let Nanuet Patch Beat Pearl River to 600 Likes

Check out what Nanuet Patch is saying about Pearl River.

In an attempt to beat Pearl River Patch to 600 likes on Facebook, Nanuet Patch is grabbing for every advantage they can find. They are talking about their community-built playground, but Pearl River has its own fundraising going for the Franklin Ave. Playground, including the record-setting ice cream sundae. They are bringing up the 12-year run with the Little Brown Jug even though Pearl River maintained its two-year hold with a last fall.

Sure, they have an outdoor education center and the Shops at Nanuet are coming, but does that really compare to Pearl River?

Pearl River has the train station, the , locally-owned places to shop and eat, outstanding schools and wonderful volunteers.

I don't even have to bring up the sports rivalry that Pearl River has dominated recently in boys and girls basketball, baseball, softball, cross country and track as well as football.

One small problem. Nanuet Patch beat Pearl River Patch to 500 Facebook fans. The two sites both launched in 2010 (Nanuet in August and Pearl River in December).

So, let's show them by beating them to 600 fans, just to provide one more example of Pearl River's superiority.

Why? Because Patch's Facebook presence provides readers with breaking news, real-time dispatches from our reporters and editors, and more.

I fully support these folks in their effort to find a cure to cancer. This guy Murphy seems like heRead More has a head for numbers. Any chance one of these days he will offer up what he has done or will do as a county legislator to fix the financial mess our county is in? Bon Appétit!

I had a great night there helping a great cause by being one of the celebrity guest waiters for thisRead More "Brest Buddy" event in support of the AVON Walk for Breast Cancer.
