Election Day 2013: Close Supervisor Race

Walter Wettje leads Andy Stewart by 36 votes for Orangetown Supervisor. Councilmen Tom Diviny and Denis Troy were re-elected.

UPDATE 11:42PM: With 100 percent of districts reporting, Walter Wettje Jr. has 5,948 votes, just 36 votes more than Andy Stewart's 5,912.

Republicans Denis Troy and Tom Diviny were re-elected to the Orangetown Council. Republican Robert Simon won re-election as Orangetown Receiver of Taxes. He will be the last person to hold the position. Proposition 7, which allows the town to eliminate the position, passed with 74.6 percent of the vote. 

UPDATE 10:56PM: In the race for seats on the Orangetown Town Council, with 31 percent of districts reporting, Daniel F. Salmon has 1,947 votes, Annmarie Uhl has 1,915; Thomas F. Diviny  has 1,397 votes; Denis M. Troy, 1,446.

UPDATE at 10:50 p.m.: With 31 percent of the vote in, incumbent Andy Stewart leads the race for Orangetown Supervisor with 65.4 percent of the vote to Republican challenger Walter Wettje's 34.6 percent.

UPDATE at 10:30 p.m.

First results are in from Orangetown with 8.3 percent of the vote.

In the race for Supervisor, Republican Walter Wettje leads with 63.3 percent of the vote to incumbent Democrat Andy Stewart's 36.7.

For town council, incumbent Republicans Tom Diviny and Denis Troy led with 38.3 and 39.4 percent respectively. Democrat Dan Salmon has 11.6 percent and Democrat Annmarie Uhl is at 10.8. 

In the Orangetown Receiver of Taxes race, Republican incumbent Bob Simon took a comfortable early lead over Democratic challenger Chris Smith with 74 percent of the vote.
