Turnout at Polls Steady

Rockland County Republican Elections Commissioner Lou “Butch” Babcock said the voter turnout was as expected at mid morning.

“I would say it’s an average off year election,” he said.

Babcock anticipated a surge of voters after 5 p.m. He said he had been to polling locations in North Rockland after the polls opened at 6 a.m. and found them to be slow to moderate. He said no problems had been reported and people seemed to be aware of their polling locations because the board of elections was not getting many calls.
