FOUR CHAPLAINS
CEREMONY

February 2, 2014 at 10 AM, at the Park
Evangelical Free Church, 4 Roosevelt Place, New City, NY 10956 the Rockland
County American Legion will hold the 71st Anniversary of the Four
Chaplains Memorial service hosted and sponsored by William DeBevoise American
Legion Post #1682 of New City, New York, on Sunday,

The
Four Chaplains Memorial Service of the Rockland County American Legion will hold
the 71st Anniversary of the sinking of The USAT Dorchester off
Greenland. The service will be Sponsored and held at the Park Evangelical Free
Church, 4 Roosevelt Place, New City, NY 10956 and hosted by William DeBevoise American Legion Post #1682 of New City,
New York, and their Commander V James Troiola. Many Color
Guards will participate including American Legion Posts from Rockland County, Clarkstown
Police Department Honor Guard, Rockland County Civil Air Patrol Honor Guard,
North Rockland H.S. Navy Junior ROTC Honor Guard as well as family members of
the deceased Chaplains. Pastor Dwight Hodne, Pastor of The Park Evangelical Free Church, will preside over
the Memorial Service. Over 200 people are expected, including members of all
The American Legion Posts in Rockland County, 2014 Rockland County  Veteran of the Year, Kenneth Walters of the
Veterans of Foreign Wars, , the Marine Corps League, the Veterans of Foreign
Wars, the Jewish War Veterans, the Vietnam Veterans of America, the Korean War
Veterans, the Military Order of the Purple Heart, the Disabled American
Veterans, the Nam Knights of America and the American Legion Auxiliary.  Some of our local elected officials are
expected to be in attendance.  Including NY
State Senator David Carlucci, Rockland
County American Legion Commander Edward J. Cardinale and Officers of The
Rockland County American Legion will participate in the service.
