Dan Sullivan Foundation Awards Scholarships

The Dan Sullivan Foundation gave $1,000 scholarships to Kelly Bakker and Matthew Dale at the Albertus Magnus Baccalaureate Mass Wednesday at St. Francis. 
The foundation also gave an award to Nanuet senior Michael Buhlman May 30. 

The Dan Sullivan Foundation was formed in 2012 in memory of Dan Sullivan, a Pearl River native who was a standout athlete at Albertus Magnus and Dominican College. He passed away from a heart attack October 31, 2011.
In addition to scholarships, the foundation provide aide to people in need.

The Dan Sullivan Foundation For Fighting for Phil night will be held at Chili's in Nanuet from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. June 18. For those who bring a flyer, Chili's will donate 10 percent of purchases to the foundation. 

Fighting for Phil is an effort to help Filomena O'Brien of Garnerville, who has stage four colon cancer. O'Brien's husband Jerry went to high school with Dan Sullivan. For more information about Fighting for Phil, go to the Facebook page here or the website, www.helpphil.org.
