Rose Of Rockland 2012 to Join Parade Marchers

Erica Joyce of Nanuet was named the 2nd Annual Rose of Rockland earlier this month. She will be joined in Sunday's Rockland County St. Patrick's Day Parade by 2011 winner Erin Loughran.

Erica Joyce, a registerd nurse from Nanuet, was named the second annual Rose of Rockland earlier this month.

She will join 2011 winner Erin Loughran Sunday as marchers in the 50th Annual Rockland County St. Patrick's Day Parade through Pearl River.

Joyce will represent Rockland County in the 2012 New York Rose of Tralee which will be held this April in New York City. Loughran won the Rose of Tralee as well in 2011. The Rose of Tralee winner will go to Ireland this August to compete in the International Rose of Tralee Festival.

According to Ronnie Moroney, the Rose of Rockland "Is held annually to chose a young lady between ages 17 and 28 to represetn Rockland County as a role model for Irish American youth, enhancing Irish culture and heritage."

The Rose of Rockland Committee is based in Pearl River.
