Catherine Halloran: Member of Pearl River Columbiettes

Catherine Halloran (Kay Beam) a resident of Suffern passed away on April 2, 2014 at the age of 92.

Catherine was born in New York City to the late John and Bridget Schmidt. She moved from New York City to Rockland County in 1968.

Catherine was an active member of St. Jude's Church in the city before moving to Rockland. While in Rockland she attended St. Joseph's Church, St. Boniface Church and Sacred Heart Church in Suffern. She was a member of the Columbiette's in the Bronx and Pearl River.

Catherine devoted her life to her family and helping others through her numerous volunteer activities. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome and included. She provided her children a wonderful childhood filled with love and constant family activity, games and travel.

Catherine is survived by her daughters Carol Ann, Sue Ann (son-in-law John), and Jo Ann, sons Bill (daughter-in-law Geneva) and Bobby as well as nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her two husbands Bill Halloran, Frank Beam and her son Jimmy.

Family will receive friends from 4-8PM on Sunday, April 6th at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM on Monday, April 7th at Sacred Heart Church, Suffern. Interment will follow at St. Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx, NY.
