Services are planned for two men, a father and son from Nyack, who died on Tuesday, June 24 after being struck and killed by a tractor-trailer on Route 287 in New Jersey.
The two men perished when a tractor-trailer driven Adelbert McKee, 58, of Ellenville, N.Y., hit the side of the disabled cement truck the Mercados were trying to help. A third man also died in the accident, Harry Bulatowicz, 58, of Ellenville, N.Y.
According to police, no charges have been filed and the accident remains under investigation.
Services for the two Nyack men are being handled by Sorce Funeral Home.
Santiago Manuel Mercado, 22, and his father Santiago Fabian Mercado, 42, will be remembered on Tuesday, July 1st, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home, 728 West Nyack Road, West Nyack, N.Y. The funeral is planned for Wednesday, July 2nd, 2014 at the same location.
