Edward Kempsey: Known as Eddie the Painter Throughout Rockland County

Edward Kempsey of Pearl River, NY, a resident for 26 years, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at James J. Peters Medical Center in Bronx, NY. He was 68.

Mr. Kempsey worked as a painter for DC #9 Local 113 in New York City.

Eddie was born April 29, 1945 in New York City to John and Alice Kempsey. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Locally, throughout Rockland County, he was known as Eddie the Painter with his son Eddie Jr.

He is survived by his son, Eddie and wife Candy of Pearl River; daughter, Jennifer Kempsey and fiancé, Matt Acevedo of New Jersey; four grandchildren, Eddie, Angela, Joseph and Ella and former wife, Carmela Kempsey of Nanuet, NY.

Arrangements were handled by Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc.
