Helene Scully age 83 entered into eternal peace on Thursday May 8th, 2014. Helene was born to August and Hilda Hiby in Jamaica Queens, NY on September 28th, 1930.
She is pre deceased by her husband James D. Scully Jr. & her sister Frances A. Hiby.
She is survived by her children, Janet Dyer of Pine Bush, James D. Scully 3rd & his wife Cathy of Nyack, NY, & Janice Kovach & her husband Donald of Manahawkin, NJ. Her Grandchildren Melissa Rusckowski & her husband Ben, Allison Dyer & James Dyer Jr. & his wife Crystal. Richard Scully & his wife Erika, Ellen & Fiona Scully, Amber Powell & husband Joe & Michael Scully. Great grandchildren, Makayla, Joseph, Annabella, Liam & Sebastian Scully, James 3rd & Jaden Dyer, & Owen Rusckowski.
She lived in Tappan, NY for many years until settling in to Suffern, NY with her husband in 1958.
In 1958 she was awarded A Certificate of Honor by the NY Telephone Company as Ms. Voice and Courtesy of Nyack Toll. She was a homemaker for many years and later in life she was Employed by Ciba-Geigy until retirement.
Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her children, grandchildren & close friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. in Nyack. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM at the funeral home.
