Laura Leddy of Pearl River, NY died Friday May 16, 2014. She was 63.
Laurie worked as a registered nurse for a number of hospitals and was a nurse at Yankee Stadium for years.
Laurie was born November 26, 1950 in the Bronx to Harry and Loretta Mager.
She was educated in the Bronx and graduated from St. Helena's HS in 1968. She earned her nursing degree from Misericordia Nursing School in 1979.
On April 16, 1977 she married John at St. Helena's Church in the Bronx. Laurie lived in Pearl River for the past 32 years and before that she lived in the Bronx and Parkchester, NY.
Locally, she was a member of the Montvale Evangelical Free Church in Montvale, NJ.
Laurie will be remembered for her smile in the face of adversity. Being a great Nanna, a great Irish soda bread baker and a NY Yankee fan. She will be remembered for her faith and strength.
She is survived by her husband, John; daughter, Kerry and husband Marino and two grandchildren, Aidan and Luke; son, John; sisters, Evelyn and Elizabeth and brothers, Hank, Matthew and James.
Funeral service will be held Thursday morning at the Montvale Evangelical Free Church, 141 W. Grand Ave., Montvale, NJ. Visiting is Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
