Nanuet Patch Editor Kim Tran and I chose the best places for pizza to introduce our new Best of Patch feature.
The response was impressive, over 2,300 votes in the two polls (prelims and finals) and 101 comments.
And the winner is: Raffaele's Pizzeria in Pearl River.
Pearl River residents Ron and Joann Fatigate opened Raffaele's on Central Avenue April 22, 2011. Their chidren, Jessica, 18, and Ryan, 17, both work there along with many current and former Pearl River High School students.
Ron Fatigate credited his family's connections in the community for the success of the business and suggested that also played a role in their victory in the Best of Patch contest.
Patch stopped by Raffaele's Pizzeria Saturday to get a picture of the owners with the winner's certificate. Ron Fatigate proudly showed off the shop's own soft drink label as well as a heated, rotating pizza display on the counter.
