Best of Winner: Sugar Shaynes

Sugar Shaynes won the Best of Patch: Desserts poll with 56 percent of the vote.

The voters have spoke. They probably enjoyed researching their choices, too.

We asked you to tell us who offers the best dessert in this week's Bet of Patch poll and 109 of you voted.

And the winner is: Sugar Shaynes.

The gourmet bakery, which is run by Michelle Worob and Rene Spadacinni out of Luigi O'Grady's Deli and Catering, drew 62 votes, 56 percent of the total. King Kone, which reopened Thursday after its regular winter hibernation, was next with 34 votes, good for 31 percent.

Worob and Spadacinni opened Sugar Shaynes in 2011 when they bought out Sweet Sensations, which had been their vendor for baked goods. They hired a professional decorator for fancy cakes and their home-made desserts include the popular cupcake push-up pop.

Find out more about the items at Sugar Shaynes on their website. They recently added cupcakes with a St. Patrick's Day theme.

"Rene and I are so thrilled with the response we have gotten so far with our baked goods," Worob said. "We are thouroughly enjoying our new endeavor."

She said they put the link to the poll on Facebook all week.

Check out the poll results below. There is also a screen shot of the totals as of the end of voting this morning attached to this article.

Next week, Best of Patch will become Reader's Choice. Check back Monday morning to vote in our next poll.
