The "Brest Buddies" were formed in 2004 by Anne Marie Hogan who fought and won a fierce battle with breast cancer and decided to help other do the same
And serving the 90 attendees were the men of the Pearl River Hibernian House as "Celebrity Waiters and Tip Collectors [for the cause] who brought poor service and rich laughter to the evening.
The proceeds are used to pay the required sponsorship of $1,800 per person in the 2-day/26 miles"AVON Walk for Breast Cancer Research" which takes place in Manhattan in October.
As there are now 11 Brest Buddies - Rosemarie Carollo, Mary Ellen Clarke, Theresa Gallagher, Anne Marie Hogan, Mary Lynch, Anne Marie McGrory, Mary Murphy, Eileen Murphy, Theresa O'Rourke-Wolanski, Geraldine Ryan and Margaret Whelan, so that's $19,800 that must be raised every year.
