Community Corner

What are you doing for others on MLK Day of Service?

Worldwide Community First Responder, Inc., in collaboration with The Volunteer Center, will participate in the 2014 MLK Day of Service by assessing the health of the Spring Valley community.

"Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love"- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The MLK Day of Service provides each of us with an opportunity to join neighbors and local leaders to tackle community challenges and strengthen the nation. In 2013, over 25 volunteers participated in the WCFR Community Health Project and 200 surveys were completed in a single day in Nanuet, NY. Click here for article in the Journal News.

On Saturday January 18th, 2014, Worldwide Community First Responder (WCFR) - MLK Day of Service will assess the health of the Spring Valley community. Volunteers will conduct short surveys of people along Main Street in Spring Valley. The 10 minute survey includes questions on demographics and community health.

Join us on Saturday, January 18th, 2014 as we commemorate the life of Martin Luther King Jr. during a Day of Service at 9 N. Main St, Spring Valley, NY 10977.  Be one of over 400 people engaging in this Day of Service.
