Which New York Team Has Been More Surprising?

The Yankees and Mets have both gotten off to surprising starts, but which New York team has shocked you more so far?

We are over a quarter of the way into the 2012 baseball season and the Eastern Division in both the National and American Leagues have been very surprising.

In the senior circuit the East has been flipped upside down as Atlanta and Philadelphia have had issues escaping the cellar and the young Washington Nationals and home grown New York Mets have enjoyed success in the early portion of the season.

The American League East has been equally unpredictable in the first quarter of the season as perennial favorites New York and Boston have taken turns at the bottom of the division in the early going and Baltimore has been atop the standings all season long.

The Yankees came into this season with World Series aspirations, while the Mets were just hoping a return to respectability was in their future. Now it seems like the Mets can be buyers at the trade deadline to see if they can find the missing piece to bring them into the postseason while the Yankees are already scrambling to find runs and late inning outs.

Which team has been more surprising to you so far?

The Mets good start has been the most surprising by far. The Yanks have gotten off to bad starts in the past before and have been just fine. If I had a nickel for every time I heard the comparison to 1965 the last 10 years when they have started off slow, I would be a rich man.

Both teams are surprising to me. Somewhere Omar is smiling because he made some bad trades and signings but it looks like the man can draft, and who would have thought David Wright could play short? Im interested to see what both teams do at the deadline, as of right now they should both be buyers.
