A 17-year-old Sparkill girl is dead and a Sparkill teen and a Blauvelt teen were injured after their car ran off the New York State Thruway in the rain Saturday night, according to State Police.

Police said the accident took place about 7:08 p.m. on the southbound side of the Thruway in Plattekill. At the time, police said the roadway was wet from rainy weather.

The car, a 2008 Subaru, went off the roadway and down an embankment, ending up against a tree.

State Police investigators were called out to review the crash. There were no charges in connection with the accident.

My thoughts and prayers to the injured and their families. Wendy...no words can come near how I feel. I used to come into your shop a lot when I was single, living around the corner from you. I stopped by and remember your dog Ruby...and I think seeing a cute adorable little child ...I'm sure she was your daughter Quincy...I pray and cry with you. Scotty.
